The beautiful traditional homestead is perched high on a hillside overlooking Lake Aposelemis in the foothills of the Dikti Mountains. It is a secret retreat hidden in the rocky wilderness and protected by the Kermes oak forest. It is these oaks with their evergreen leaves and "Velani" fruits that gave this hotel its name.

The owners of this family hotel, Sabine and Manolis, welcome you with personal warmth and Cretan hospitality.
 
With a 4 hectare farm and horse riding area, the hotel has a field next door, they also grow their own fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers as well as an olive grove where their olive oil comes from.

Velani Restaurant uses its own fruits and vegetables to prepare the famous healthy Cretan food. Their kitchen uses their own homemade products as well as from local farms and surrounding villages. Try typically Greek dishes with extra virgin olive oil, Cretan wine made from ancient grape varieties, meat and cheese from their neighbors' free-range sheep and goats, honey from the local beekeeper and eggs from their own free-range hens.

There are sunbeds and umbrellas on the sandy beach and a gradual entry into the sea, which is especially appreciated by families with children and older travelers.

There is also a long promenade around the hotel with taverns and cafes and a small shop about 50m from the accommodation. Other shopping options 15 minutes' walk away, as well as a famous pastry shop with excellent ice cream.​

The 12-room hotel also includes a restaurant, an infinity pool, a children's pool and a jacuzzi. You can also stay in 2 detached bungalows. The hotel's services include, among others, various types of massages, yoga lessons, and horse riding. WiFi or parking right next to the hotel is also a matter of course. All rooms have views of the valley and Lake Aposelemis.
